She was born in Ontario, Canada where she grew up in a farm alongside her six brothers. Her family is very religious and as a child little Jessica`s dream was to become a dentist. People say that the best things in life are the less expected. Miss Stam was absolutely surprised when she was discovered by an agent during a visit to a fast food restaurant. That is how the fairy-tale has started. Then participation in fashion shows of Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Jean-Paul Gaultier. Stam is an advertising face of Christian Dior, Donna Karen, Bulgari, Escada... the list is endless. One of the famous international fashion sites - www.models.com ranks her at number 5 in the Top 50 of the best models. In 2007 Forbes magazine ranks her 15 in the best paid models countdown as her incomes for the same years amounts to 1.5 million dollars.
