Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013 was held in Mumbai. Some 89 designers showcase their collections at the event that runs from 23 to 27 August.

We present you the collections of Shravan Kumar and the fashion label Gaurang.

At the age of 17, Shravan RamaSwamy forayed into Fashion Industry. Today, at 36, his name is synonymous with style in South India. Initially on an extremely small level, ShravanKumar started designing for his family and friends. Shravan was encouraged by the overwhelming response he got. He established SHRAVANS STUDIO in Hyderabad. His clothes are vibrant, using a palette of colours, simple yet interesting, and traditional hand crafted detailing reworked in the contemporary context. The styling is casual and easy to wear. He works mainly with hand woven natural fibre fabrics and travels extensively in his search for the unusual and beautiful. He works with master weavers and crafts people .Most of his designs and collections made with handlooms like Mangalagiri, Chirala, Madhavaram, Narayanpet, Venkatagiri and Chunnur khadi. His designs are timeless and are very simply cut, as the focus is always on the textile, the weave, the print, and the craft.

The label "GAURANG" personifies elegance and captivating beauty of traditional handlooms, weaves, created using Jamdani technique with pure zari on cottons and silks. Traditional motifs, inspired by the sculptures of South Indian temples, floral and geometric designs drawn from the nature are the hallmark of the creations. Immense care is taken to preserve and accentuate the aesthetic appeal of its beautiful textures. Gaurang believes in offering traditional Indian weaves and hand embroideries like Parsi, Kashmiri, Chikankari, Kutch, Kasauti on handloom sarees with a subtle and sensible contemporary flair. Gaurang likes to dress up women in traditional Indian dresses like saree, salwar-kameez and ghagras. He also designs traditional men's ware like sherwanis and dhoti-kurta.
